Compress an Image or Photo

Make your photos smaller so they're easier to send or upload.

🔒 Your files never leave your device: the conversion runs in your browser.

    How it works

    1. Click “Choose files” or drop your files into the box.
    2. Adjust the options if needed (quality, resolution, pages…).
    3. Click “Convert”: everything happens on your device, in a few seconds.
    4. Download the result (or all files at once as a .zip).

Compress Image : what to know

A phone photo often weighs 3 to 8 MB, while many forms limit attachments to 1 or 2 MB. By reducing the width to 1920 pixels and the quality to around 75%, a photo usually drops below 500 KB with no visible difference on screen. The savings are shown for each image; WebP goes even further.

    Frequently asked questions

What settings for a form limited to 1 MB?

Max width 1920 px and 75% quality: most photos end up under 500 KB. If that's not enough, choose 1280 px.

    Is the compression visible?

Above 70% quality the difference is hard to see on screen. Small text and smooth gradients are the first to suffer below that.

Can I compress a PNG screenshot?

Yes: it is converted to JPG or WebP, which is much lighter. For a screenshot with fine text, keep quality at 85% or more.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion is done by your browser, on your computer or phone: your files are never sent over the Internet or kept by Tooleon. You can even go offline once the page has loaded.

    Is it really free?

Yes: free, no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on conversions. The site is funded by ads.
